Accepting Nominations for Chapter Elections
The (ISC)2 Twin Cities Chapter Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday June 2. We are looking for people who would be interested in joining the Board. This is an opportunity to lead the chapter, and help us grow the chapter and determine meeting content. This requires about two hours per month. Board meetings are 30 to 45 minutes long. Other Board tasks take up the remaining time. If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact Bob Weiss at [email protected].
Nominations are open for the following positions. You may nominate yourself. These positions do require that you hold a valid CISSP certification.
- Membership – provides outreach to new members, and renewal advice to existing members. Handles membership questions and issues as they arise. We moved membership management to the website, and went to an annual renewal date of Jan 1. Renewal reminders and actual renewal payments are handled most by the website. Money is transferred automatically to our checking account. Monthly board meeting of 30-45 minutes every 2nd Wednesday, monthly chapter meeting of 2 hours every 3rd Thursday from 3 to 5 pm.
- Treasurer – Handle chapter bank account and make payments as necessary. Deposit incoming revenue, mostly new membership and renewals, occasional income from other sources, such as Meeting Sponsors. Pay bill at site for Chapter Social events. Monthly board meeting of 30-45 minutes every 2nd Wednesday, monthly chapter meeting of 2 hours every 3rd Thursday from 3 to 5 pm.
There is also an open appointed role for an Education Chairperson to help coordinate outreach programs to local colleges and tech schools, with a goal of promoting cybersecurity as a career.
